Vicky is an information security professional with more than 20 years’ experience across multiple sectors including the financial services industry, and security consulting service providers. She
has been a Board Member of the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX) since 2019, and a member of the Cyber Security Specialist Group at the Canadian Bankers Association since 2018, and a member of the FS-ISAC Threat Intelligence Committee since 2015.
As Managing Director, Vicky provides thought leadership for assessing and managing threats against BMO and the financial services sector at large. She is responsible for monitoring the threat landscape and regularly re-evaluating threats in order to enhance BMO’s readiness and response capabilities in order to improve operational and cyber threat resilience. Vicky has led multiple teams within BMO’s Information Security Program including the Cyber Security Operations Centre, the Threat Intelligence and Analytics Team, and the Cyber Scenario Analysis and Exercise Management Program. She often acts as a bank representative to Canadian and U.S. regulatory bodies.
Prior to joining BMO, Vicky created and led the Cyber Intelligence Team at Scotiabank where she used her subject matter expertise to act as an advisor to the Vulnerability Management and Cyber Operations Teams across the organization. She also managed numerous projects for TELUS Security Labs, with a focus on identifying security vulnerabilities and demonstrating their associated risks.
Vicky holds a Master of Science Degree in Systems Science and a Graduate Certificate in Internet Technologies from the University of Ottawa. She also completed a Certificate in Management of Enterprise Data Analytics (Big Data) from the University of Toronto, and earlier completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar in Venezuela.
