Suzanne Beale

Graduated in 1988 from McMaster University with a Degree in Civil Engineering and Business Management.

Professional Engineer with 28 years experience in municipal engineering.

Fellow status with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).

Professional Traffic Operations designation with the ITE

Served from 1999-2011 as one of 6 Canadian ITE appointees on the National Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Traffic Operations and Standing Committee.

Participated on special ITE Committees for the development of a National Guide for School Site Development, and the recent Update of the Canadian Capacity Guide.

Responsible for leading Whitby’s Public Works Department to a awards at both the National and Provincial level of National Public Works Week among other environmental achievement awards.

Work in the consulting business from 1988 to 2004 prior to joining the Town of Whitby. Ms. Beale has been responsible for the Public Works Department since 2007 which includes Engineering, Transportation, Asset Management, Road and Parks Operations, Waste Management, Fleet Management

Served as member of the Durham College Board of Governors since 2015 and currently the Chair of the Nominating Committee.
