Michael J. Alloy, PMP, is a veteran technology executive with over 30 years of experience leading complex IT infrastructure, security, and digital transformation initiatives across the Public & Private Sector, Defence, Policing, and Higher Education.
Michael currently leads the technological vision and strategy for Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), where he oversees all IT/IS services, including cybersecurity, critical disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning (BCP), and physical security. His expertise in high-stakes environments is underscored by his past leadership roles at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Department of National Defence, where he managed large-scale infrastructure projects.
A specialist in cybersecurity, governance and risk mitigation, Michael has a deep background in emergency management. As an author in the fields of Information and Biological Technology, and having taught internationally, his material is used by global education centres. He has successfully led multi-million-dollar data centre projects, international information exchanges, and the implementation of secure, high-availability infrastructure for global firms.
Recognized for his foresight in emerging tech, Michael has served as Chair of the Canadian College Council of Chief Information Officers (CCCCIO), Director of Advocacy and Awards for the Ontario College Council of Chief Information Officers (OCCCIO), and Vice-President of the Ontario College and University Telecommunications and Internetworking Association (OCUTINA), and has been a featured speaker at Microsoft’s Executive Briefing Center, Comdex, and several Canadian technology conferences.
