
Arlette Edmunds is an accomplished Human Resources executive with more than 25 years of experience leading the people agenda for global financial services organizations. She is a passionate business leader with a proven track record of delivering talent strategies that drive growth and profitability. Her approach centres on elevating the employee experience and reflects a deep commitment to long-term, sustainable success.
Today, Arlette Edmunds leads the human capital strategy at The Woodbridge Company Limited (the Thomson Family) as Chief Human Resources Officer, where she is responsible for setting the strategic people agenda. Previously, Arlette was CHRO at AGF Investments, leading global people strategy. She also helped launch Ontario’s newest defined benefit pension plan as Chief People Officer at the University Pension Plan, established in 2020. Before that, she spent time at OMERS pension plan, where she led global HR for investment teams in Toronto, New York, London, Sydney, and Singapore. Earlier in her career, Arlette held HR leadership roles at TD Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Deloitte, aligning business and people strategies. She also founded and successfully exited an online retail business before joining OMERS in 2013.
Arlette is passionate about giving back through leadership and mentorship. She volunteers with Women in Governance on the Certification Committee and serves as a Mentor with VersaFI (previously Women in Capital Markets). She has held board and governance committee roles with Halton Food for Thought and the Oakville Soccer Club.
Her interest in governance led her to earn the Chartered Director designation from McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business in 2021 and in 2025 she completed her Executive MBA through Ivey Business School, further strengthening her strategic leadership capabilities.
Outside of work, Arlette is a dedicated runner and team sports enthusiast.
