Allison Atkins

Allison Atkins leads the Cybersecurity Risk Management program for the 2nd line of defense within Scotiabank. Allison has a depth of experience across Security and IT Risk domains, having worked in various roles in a number of organizations since 1999. She kicked off her career delivering Penetration Testing and Security Risk Assurance services and spent about a decade in the professional services space with a couple of “Big 4” Audit and Advisory firms. Allison’s career includes time spent working in Canada, the US and the UK, where she spent eight years. While in the UK, she moved into the financial services industry, taking up a number of progressive roles with in IT Risk with a global insurance provider and a leadership role with a Fintech company. After returning to Canada, Allison worked in the vendor space with RSA Security as a GRC Specialist supporting all clients across Eastern Canada. In 2016, she returned to the Fintech industry and led the Information Security Program for a financial services provider before joining Scotiabank in 2018. Allison Atkins (nee Hood) holds a BSc. Computer Science from Western University and the CISSP, CISM, CISA, and CGEIT designations.
